1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using FireCal, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

2. Sign in with Apple

FireCal supports Sign in with Apple. By choosing this option you agree to Apple's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. If you select "Hide My Email," Apple forwards a private relay address to us — your FireCal account is tied to that relay address. Revoking FireCal's access in your Apple ID settings will prevent future sign-ins but does not automatically delete your account or data; use Settings → Delete Account inside the app for full removal.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use FireCal. By using the app, you represent that you meet this age requirement. If we learn that a user under 13 has provided personal data, we will terminate the account and delete the data immediately.

4. Health & AI Disclaimer

Not Medical Advice: FireCal is a nutritional tracking tool and is not a medical device. Always consult a healthcare professional before starting a new diet or fitness regime.

AI Accuracy: Calorie and nutrient estimations are powered by AI. These are approximations only. FireCal does not guarantee the accuracy of AI-generated nutritional data. Users should exercise their own judgment when logging meals.

5. Subscriptions & Usage Limits

Free Tier: Includes a daily limit of 1 AI scan, resetting at midnight in your local timezone.

FireCal Pro — Fair Use Policy: FireCal Pro is marketed as "Unlimited AI scans" subject to a fair use limit of 100 scans per 24-hour period. This limit resets at midnight in your local timezone. It exists solely to prevent automated abuse and ensure consistent service quality for all users — the vast majority of users will never approach it through normal, personal use.

Rate Limiting: To protect service stability, all users are limited to 5 AI scans per minute regardless of subscription tier. Requests that exceed this rate will be temporarily paused and may be retried after a short wait.

Abuse Prevention: Accounts that consistently operate near the daily or per-minute limits in a pattern consistent with automated or non-personal use may have their access reviewed or suspended.

Billing: Subscriptions are processed via Apple App Store or Google Play Store.

Auto-Renewal: Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period via your device's store settings.

Meal Photo Storage: Meal photos are stored locally on your device for up to 30 days for all users. After 30 days, local copies are automatically removed. Free tier users' meal photos are not backed up to cloud storage and are permanently deleted after 30 days.

Meal Photo Storage (Pro): FireCal Pro additionally backs up your meal photos to cloud storage. Cloud copies are retained for up to 1 year from the date the meal was logged, after which they are permanently deleted. Photos saved as bookmarks are exempt from automatic deletion and are kept until you remove the bookmark yourself. Within the first 30 days, the app loads images from your device for faster performance; beyond 30 days, images are served from cloud storage. FireCal does not guarantee availability of local copies across app reinstalls or device transfers.

Weight Photo Storage: Progress photos attached to weight logs are stored locally on your device for up to 60 days for free users, after which local copies are automatically removed. Free tier users' weight photos are not backed up to cloud storage.

Weight Photo Storage (Pro): FireCal Pro backs up your weight progress photos to cloud storage with no expiration. They are retained indefinitely unless you delete the associated weight log or your account.

6. Account Termination & Deletion

User-Initiated Deletion: You may delete your account and all associated data at any time through the in-app settings.

Important Note: Deleting your FireCal account does not automatically cancel an active App Store or Google Play subscription. You must cancel the subscription through your device's store settings to avoid further charges.

Company Termination: We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or abuse the AI scanning quota.

7. Modifications to Terms

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes via the app or email. Continued use of FireCal after changes constitutes acceptance.

8. Limitation of Liability & Governing Law

FireCal is provided "as is." We shall not be liable for any damages resulting from your use of the app. These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia.
